Is anyone planning on quitting job after giving birth?

Prior to becoming pregnant, my husband I decided I would not return to work after I give birth. I am 8w4d today and don’t have any plans on telling my work for as long as possible. I am dreading telling them I won’t be returning. Anyone in the same situation?

I wish! We have great insurance through my employer and his just isn't as good. There's also no way we'd be able to live on a single income 😩

I live in Canada so maybe the “rules” are different here. I wasn’t sure if I was going to return but ultimately decided not to after my maternity leave. I didn’t say anything to my employer until a month before my mat leave ended, then I told them in writing I would not be returning and my replacement was able to stay on the job.

I had a coworker who didn't want to lose our health insurance prior to giving birth (work at a hospital) so she went on maternity leave (so she could get paid) came back to work for 2 days and then put in her two week notice.

I would quit now but my insurance is bomb for giving birth! I’ll quit after birth since I’m in school also.

I’m not sure there’s a way I can. Always thought when we had a baby would be my way to move on from this job. As I’m ready to move to something else. But we cannot do it on one income. No way. I’d like to find a part time gig but I honestly wouldn’t feel like I’m supporting my family as I need to. 
We’ll see.
