second-time+ moms: is this reasonable?

My EDD is 9.16 (anticipated a little earlier due to short cervix), and there is a lung cancer research fundraising 5k walk/run that I’d like to do on October 27th. My mom passed from lung cancer 3 years ago and I’ve done the 5k before for her, and would love to bring my baby girl this time, but I’m not sure if that’s a reasonable timeline. What do you think- is walking a 5k with baby doable approximately 6 weeks after birth?

I think as long as you are walking, yes. But listen to your body!!!!! If it says stop, you stop!

Nurses told me I could start walking as soon as I felt ready after birth. The first few times out we only did around the block, but worked up to longer each time. Don't try a 5k the first time out haha but if you work your way up to it I think it's doable

Honestly as long as your body is up for it, and you think baby will be okay during it, I say go for it!

We have same EDD and I had asked my doctor the same thing! Except the 5K I was looking to walk was October 5..she said I should be fine! I was thrilled..my husband..not so much 🙈😂

Walking might be doable, but definitely listen to your body and take it slow. I remember I couldn’t stand very long for weeks after delivering my first and I trained and ran a half marathon during the first 5 months of my pregnancy. Everyone recovers differently, so hopefully you have a speedy recovery.
