Anatomy scan results?

Hi everyone! My anatomy scan is scheduled for Monday 8/12. My regular 20 week prenatal appointment is Friday 8/16. If, god forbid, something is concerning during my anatomy scan, will they let me know right then and there, or will I have to wait until Friday? I guess what I'm asking is do I get the results the same day, whether they are good, bad or anything in between?

In my experience when I found out my last baby had a severe birth defect during the anatomy scan, the tech brought in a dr who then took over to look more into it  but I don’t know if that that’s protocol for a lot of places

The tech is not legally allowed to give results because a radiographer has to review the images. They will send over the report to your doctor. Mine was reviewed the following day.

My tech told me info that I don’t think she was supposed to... like “I can’t find the fourth chamber of her heart” “I still don’t see your cervix”. But then when she did find the fourth chamber, she told me baby was just being stubborn and she finally found it. And then she confirmed my cervix looked great. 
I had my doctor appt scheduled for right after my scan so he gave me all the details. If you don’t have a doctor appointment scheduled, you will probably have to wait until your appointment.

Will you see your doctor after your anatomy scan? If so, she’ll let you know. If not, you might have to wait. My tech told me everything looked “beautiful and perfect”.

I think it depends on who is doing your scan too.  Sometimes scans are done at MFM offices, even if you’re not following with an MFM, and the doctor will typically come in afterwards if there is something concerning.  If it is a routine anatomy scan, generally you have to wait to see your doctor for results.

Friday. The tech won’t say anything and the doctor won’t review them until your appointment most likely.

My doctor sent me to a maternal fetal center for the ultrasound and they discussed everything with me that day.
