Sheyla

So my family and I want to adopt a dog. He is an adult and use to be used in dog fights. He is the sweetest pup EVER. Eager to please and so gentle. However we have a cat and I love this cat so much. So of course we want them to get along. Given his past, he is considered a “reactive dog”. He is so gentle with humans but animals are a different story. I am so in love with him. Please just send prayers, good thoughts and vibes. We really want him and want to be his family. Our cat acts like a dog and is extremely gentle and friendly. We are hoping this works out. Just look at this little man. We want him to love his home. We understand if we are not it. But I really wish that we are. Not many people adopt reactive dogs and we don’t know if anyone would ever adopt him. We are willing to do anything we can for him.

To those responding that we shouldn’t get him. He is reactive towards big dogs. We are working with trainers and we have introduced them. They would coexist in the house but they would not be in the same room. They would sleep in different rooms as well. We also have many places our cat has access to that he wouldn’t. I would not risk my cats life or his. This has all been considered. I am aware of the risks and responsibilities I am taking on. The house is big enough for both of them to live and coexist in. I have also worked with dogs for a good portion of my life and know how to handle and train them. We are doing further training to help. I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think we could handle it, any life would be at risk or either animal would be affected emotionally or by stress. This is not just an optimistic biased part of me speaking. He is very well behaved and trained. We have taken him on walks and when he gets distracted or triggered, he listens to commands. We are mussel training him as well. When he gets triggered we tell him to sit and stay and he has yet to prove that he cannot handle it. I say with full sincerity that I have no doubt that we are capable of being his new home.
