Has anyone experienced doc telling them they’ll have a big baby and baby came out regular size? Apparently my baby will be 8lbs but i haven’t put on anymore weight so i don’t know how that will happen.

They told my mum my brother would be at least 9Lbs as she measured so big and ended up going 11 days over. He came like 7 lbs 2 ounces. Don’t get too worried about measurement they always seam to be wrong. In the UK they don’t even tell us  how much they “think” baby weighs as it’s guess work.

I was told my son was a big baby throughout my pregnancy. I really wanted a water birth and they said I couldn’t and that I’d have to be hooked on the machine with doctors there because there was a good chance he was getting stuck. When I was in labour they said he really doesn’t look that big and i could go and have a water birth thank god. He was 7lbs 15

I was told at 36 week baby was over 7lbs and he came out at 40 weeks 9lbs 2 ozs. My OB said at this point ultrasound weight predictions can be off by 15%.

I was told my daughter was 7lbs the day before she was born, but she was only 4lbs at birth. They were way off!

LoL yep, they did an ultrasound before delivery and claimed he was way over 8 lbs and I would have trouble he came out a tiny 6 lbs 5 oz! I now deliver at home, and trust what my Doula guesses! She guessed my 4th would be 10 lbs and he was 10 lbs 2 oz, she hues #5 would be 8 lbs and she was 7 lbs 11! I am hoping for a 8-9 lber! Bigger the baby easier the delivery in my experience! But I also trust my body and know I am deliver the size my body grows! And I don’t have to deal with ignorant doctors!

I haven’t put on a single pound since becoming pregnant, but baby is growing ahead of schedule - your weight on the scales is no indicator.
Although their estimations aren’t always right. My SIL was told baby was 6lb 4oz and a week later she was born at 8lb 12oz

I had borderline gestational diabetes with my second baby. My very last ultrasound at 38 weeks and 2 days they said he was almost 11 lbs and needed to come soon. So I was induced 3 days later (they begged me to go for a c-section and I told them I didnt think it was necessary) and the whole process from starting the IV to delivery was 2 hours and 5 minutes, and he was only 8 lbs 3 oz... That's how wrong they  were lol.

I've had both, my first was supposed to be 6 lbs and he came out almost 9. Then my 3rd was measuring small and came out 7.6lbs... it's just a guess. They dont actually know how big or small baby will be.
