Opinions on girl nursery themes

aylee

I have a little boy and now I'm pregnant with a girl and I'm having trouble picking themes and colors because I hate princess frilly pink crap. I am a Tom girl who is about the outdoors. I do want her to have nice cute things just not full on princess and so much pink it hurts ur eyes lol I'm thinking about mixing neutral greys with woodland critters. Husband said too much grey she needs color in her life lol also the entire family thinks this situation is hilarious cuz they know I have no idea what to do with a girl. I know I'm going to do my best to raise a strong independent woman and to me that's what matters most. I feel so much pressure now that I know it's a girl 😪

I have no idea what kind of colours you normally use, but something like this could be nice/cute and can be done without being crazy girly. And you could do owls, or elephant if you need a theme.

Me and my husband decided on a Studio Ghibli nursery. Walls are light grey with white trim. Furnitures all white to keep the room bright. There are a few light pink accents (sheer pink curtains behind grey blackout drapes, crib beddings mostly grey eith a little pink) but thats not the primary color. We're going to put some pictures and stuffed charecters in the room from the movies with a few colorful plants as well.

This sounds so cute ! You’ll have to post pics of the finished product!

We did this 👇🏻 But I also considered doing woodland animals with neutral beige and pops of pale pink and subtle green.

I did my girls walls a light olive/hunter green! It’s perfect and I’m just doing simple floral.

We did a aquamarine-type blue. We plan to have floral and wooden accents as well to offset the blue.

We did our nursery aqua and white thinking it was pretty gender neutral. We then used different accent colors for each kid. We used purple with our oldest, pink with our second, and I think mint and yellow for this baby. I love how it's a bright, cheery room without being super girly. I do like the grey nurseries with some cute accent colors too, but I love bright colorful kids rooms.

Maybe a woodland theme with purples and greens and blues?

Since you like the outdoors, what about a pretty mountain theme?

I did an elephant themeWe had one pink wall and then 3 grey with grey furniture and white curtains ( I’m not a fan of pink either) I’m trying to figure out now how to do a Pokémon theme for her that isn’t super boyish
