My boyfriend currently has to commute an hour to his new job at UPS. We’re currently looking for places up there, so he wanted to have a steady job beforehand. Earlier today my mom came home from work and asked if my boyfriend was working, then when I answered yes, she scoffed and said “he must hate the drive. We’ll see how long that lasts”. So tired of hearing these sort of comments from her, disrespecting him. It’s kind of obvious we’re moving in a month, and he wanted to get situated early so he didn’t have to worry about finding something. Ever since I told her he got the job last Friday, she’s been judging the situation left and right, saying how it’s a horrible idea to get a job so far, and saying his parents shouldn’t allow him to commute like that. I hate that he has to drive an hour too, but I’m not sitting here disrespecting him and being so negative about it. Unlike her, I’m FULLY SUPPORTIVE because he’s trying so hard to make sure he can support both me and himself (even though I’ve told him countless times I can support myself).

I think we know what’s best for the both of us, so butt the fuck out.
