Confused about trimesters!

Is anyone else a little confused on which trimester you're in? I'm 12 weeks 1 day today. The app said "now that you're in the 2nd trimester...". Am I in the 2nd trimester now since I'm working on my 13th week, or am I on the last week of the 1st trimester? Google says two different things!
