Would you start planning?

So my boyfriend and I are planning on getting married in about a year and 2 months time. He doesn't plan on proposing this year, probably early next year. Would you start planning for the wedding a bit, like thinking of who to invite etc? Or wait?

Wait until he proposes. So much can change between now and then. Planning will only make you anxious.

If your actively planning a wedding I’d consider you engaged. You don’t need a ring to be engaged and can get one at any point in time during your relationship. It’s not a surprise and I’d treat it like any other major life decision you guys will make. Maybe go ring shopping together and let him plan the proposal but it’s past being a surprise and there is NOTHING wrong with that so don’t let anyone tell you any different. Good luck and (early?) It depends on how serious he is. You know him better than we do. My husband and I started talking and planning our wedding before he proposed. We set the day, and began looking into venues, music, and set a budget/ began saving specifically for the wedding. By the time he proposed, we already had the venue reserved and had an app to help us stay on track. We also only had a year to do it, if you had more time then I’d say wait, but a lot of venues and vendor do get booked if you wait too long.
