My mother has spent the past few months in jail for possession, manufacturing, trafficking, and something else pertaining to illegal substances. This is important because I told her years ago, when we were ready to start trying for a baby, that I would not tolerate this type of behavior around my child and that she would not be in my child’s life if she isn’t able to get hers together. Well, I found out I was pregnant in April and she’s was arrested twice in May and was just released recently, which is where we are now. She messaged me this morning asking how I was. I haven’t responded to her yet because I don’t know what to say to her or if I should say anything at all. I do not want her in my daughters life if she’s going to be doing things like this. What do I do? What do I say? I don’t even know if she knows I know she was in jail for illegal substances.
