My fiancé really wants to go on a babymoon. I do too of course, but I’m nervous about safety and comfort. I would definitely check with my doctor first, but I’m curious to see about others’ experiences. He wants to go to London during my 30th week (from California). Is that just way too far along to travel internationally? 🤔

Blood clots would be the big worry on a flight that long during that stage of pregnancy.  Talk to your doctor to see if you have other risk factors or if it would be safe with certain precautions (ie compression socks, getting up and walking around after a certain time period, etc).  Also have to verify with the airline that they’ll allow you to fly that far at that stage and bring a doctors note in case they put up any fuss.

You will almost certainly find that really uncomfortable. I would choose a babymoon that is easy & relaxing, so not massive international travel plus tons of public transportation/walking (London).

Honestly it’s not a great idea... I took a 3-4 hour flight (for a funeral) at 32 weeks pregnant and was so uncomfortable the whole time!  If I were you, I’d pick a destination that is drivable (and there are some amazing places in Cali, I grew up there) so that you spend less time getting there and more time actually enjoying the time together.  And that way if anything happens, you are close enough to home to get there if needed.

My OB recommends no air travel after 32 weeks. We are going to Hawaii at 30-31 weeks (next week) and I’m nervous!
