LMP & HCG don’t match ultrasound / TVS ????
I took HPTs, Clearblue and First Response, non-digital and digital, all positive. So I called and scheduled an exam with the doctor. On the day of the appointment, according to my LMP, I would have been 6 weeks pregnant. The doctor wasn’t able to see a sac using the Doppler ultrasound so she sent me to radiology for a TVS... I was expecting to get a gestational age based on the results. Instead I got a phone call from the nurse stating I needed to have a blood draw to check HCG and confirm pregnancy. This test had results consistent with a pregnancy at 5-6 weeks. The doctor has ordered another TVS to recheck the gestational age 2 weeks from the date of the first ultrasound because they were unable to see anything! No sac! Nothing! My husband and I are nervous and worried. Is it possible that this is a normal pregnancy? What could be wrong? I don’t know what’s happening and it’s freaking me out. This is my second pregnancy... the first was 100% normal and healthy and they were able to see something at 5 weeks and my body is reacting pretty much the same as it did the first time as far as I can tell (no morning sickness now or then). I’m trying not to panic or think the worst. Hoping to find answers or someone I can relate to. Please help us find some comfort until then.
