HELP!? Super confused

Quick question, if birth control stops you from ovulating then how come you still get your period?? I thought periods were meant to get rid of the unfertilized egg, so if there’s no egg, why’s there still a period going on??

It’s not a real period. On the combo pill, you have a withdrawal bleed. This is because the fourth week of the pack, you have a week of placebo pills or take a break from the hormones and that causes your uterus to react and shed

It’s totally healthy to skip the bleed week too. That’s what I’ve always done. Not a real period. :)
