Find out gender?

I just found out I’m pregnant with my second baby, and I was always thinking I would wait until delivery to find out the gender.  However my husband wants to find out as soon as able claiming it is more fun knowing in advance.  I had a 30 hour labor with my first and he thinks that if I have a similar labor it will not be as fun finding out at delivery as it would finding out in advance and being able to buy outfits or pick a new room theme.  What’s is everyone else’s thoughts?

I think it’s still a surprise whether you find out at an anatomy scan or birth. I like anatomy scan because we get to be dead set on a name, a gender, clothes etc. it was still a surprise for us, we never thought we’d have a girl. I have 14 nephews. We were so sure our 2nd was gonna be a boy like our first but as soon as the tech said “I’m 98% sure it’s a girl” both our jaws dropped, we looked each other and said at the same time “ A GIRL?!” it was an amazing experience.

I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I'm not finding out. I already have a boy and a girl though which is the only way i can handle not finding out. My friend didnt find out with her second baby and she loved it. However she has told me she will most likely find out next time before the birth

We’ve done both finding out and surprise at birth and both are lovely. My husband LOVED being able to see and tell me we had a girl after she was born but we moved house while pregnant with our second so it was helpful to know ahead of time for painting/room logistics. We haven’t decided yet what we are going to do for our fourth!

I didn’t find out the sex of my baby until he was born. I do think it makes labor and delivery extra special, personally. I’m not one who enjoys the gender specific clothing a whole lot. I picked out a nice outfit for a baby girl and a nice outfit for a baby boy for the going home outfit. Both were just sleepers and he ended up wearing both at one point. 🤷🏻‍♀️ For future children, I’m going to also not find out until birth.

I think it’s roughly the same level of surprise no matter when you find out. But it’s all about compromise. You both need to come to an agreement.
