For those of you that waited to know the sex until baby was born, why did you do it?

This is the route my husband and I are taking. He doesn't really care either way but I've been content deciding to wait because I don't really feel the need to know. I think the biggest thing is that finally getting to meet/know baby when they are born after a hard labor makes everything worth it, and you don't go through periods of sex disappointment. What were some of your reasons?

Our #1 reason is so we can be overjoyed by the huge gender reveal! It’ll be sooo special! And our 2nd reason is kinda to make everyone around us a little mad 😉

I didn’t really feel the need to know. My husband was also excited to get to announce it to me and our family. I also had a practical thought too. If people know the sex, you get a ton of cute clothes and such at the shower instead of things you actually need 🤷🏻‍♀️

We've chosen not to find out because it wouldn't change anything in the way we are preparing for them... I like the gender  neutral colour schemes and hate the baby pink and baby blues 🤷‍♀️

My husband was desperate for a baby boy. So much so, he didn't want to find out at the scan, in case they said girl, as he didn't want to be disappointed and feel guilty....
Being told that this mythical almost hypothetical thing you can't ileven imagine, being told your first born will be a girl, is one thing. 
BUT, he knew if he waited until the birthday, after all that horrid pregnancy, and the birth, if he was handed a healthy, happy, real life human baby girl, he knew he would feel nothing but love in that moment.
So we decided to wait.
Turns out it was a boy... But I know my husband wouldn't have cared one little bit.
But yeah, he couldn't bare to risk feeling disappointed and guilty before the baby was born.
Also, I think will all this modern technology we have, great, but some things are best kept a mystery. Baby doesnt want us to know yet, lol.

We’re not finding out this time, we already have a girl and boy. I’ve always wanted to have a surprise but gave in both times because I wanted to feel completely prepared! This time I don’t feel the need to find out and I think it will make birth extra special

We waited to find out on both of our kids. For one its the coolest surprise every bonding with this little person in your belly and having 0 preconceived notions about who they are. It also takes away a ton of stress and unsolicited advice from family and strangers bc they dont spend your pregnancy needing to tell you horror stories about gender specific problems bc they are fixated on telling you what gender they think your baby is lol. We had 0 gender disappointment with either cause honestly theres not a damn thing you can do about it and you go from not knowing your baby to boom they are here and who they are. Also having my husband introduce me to my boy and girl was down right cool.
