Baby aspirin to prevent high blood pressure??

Question

Today the dr told me to start taking baby aspirin to prevent high blood pressure, she said I’m not near hypertension levels but that I should start taking it. Does anyone have any experience with this? I was always told you can’t take anything other than tylenol while prego.... sort of confused!!

It’s very common to be prescribed baby aspirin. I’ve been on it since four weeks for severe preeclampsia prevention.

I’m on it, have been since 12 weeks for hypertension, pre-eclampsia prevention.  
It’s completely normal to be prescribed and safe when prescribed and monitored by your doctor. The dosage is super low, so it’s not like taking a full aspirin - in terms of not anything other than Tylenol.

Why didn't you ask your doctor when she told you. She can explain how it helps and why she is suggesting it in your case.

I was on baby aspirin pretty much my entire rainbow pregnancy because of hypertension issues. I was borderline so they did it as a preventative measure. It kept me borderline until 39 weeks when my BP spiked way up and I was induced. Baby girl is perfectly fine and healthy.

I’m on it as well its supposed to help us and our babies so anything for my unborn baby dr wouldn’t put you on it if it’s not safe

There’s a lot of medicine we can take, besides Tylenol, while pregnant for different things, but you definitely need to check with your dr first. It’s fine if dr gives the green light.
