🎀 SHE’S here! Baby girl born after only 3 hours of labor 😳
Our beautiful baby girl (surprise to us!) arrived on 8/10/19 @ 3:39 pm weighing 6 lbs 14 oz and measuring 19 inches. Welcome to the world, Dylan!
[Birth story below]
On Saturday, I was 40+2 with induction scheduled for 8/13 but wanted to meet baby sooner. DH and I had sex (which resulted in false labor a week prior) to try to induce labor. It worked this time and contractions started at 12:50pm, 2 minutes apart and after 1.5 hrs I was crawling out the house into the car to drive to the hospital.
We got to the hospital around 2:30 and I was 4cm but in a lot of pain. They got an epidural ordered and I was moved to a delivery room. I started to feel the urge to push, I was examined again (now 7cm) and my water broke. I was screaming like crazy from the pain, trying not to push but my body was taking over. They started to prep me for the epidural but I felt something coming out of me while sitting. Baby was crowning so I fell back on the gurney (backwards) and pushed as the team rushed into the room.
My husband helped keep my head up as I was diagonal on the gurney and after two pushes, baby was placed on my tummy and we found out we had another daughter.
Way more dramatic than my first daughter’s birth! Can’t believe I did it med-free! Our bodies are amazing in all the ways we bring these babies into the world! Best wishes to all the August moms! So worth the wait!
