People that moved to a whole other state, how’d you go about doing it?

I’m a single mom and I’ve had it in mind to just pack my things with my son and go to another state. Thing is I will have no family there or anything. So I’m kind of scared to do so, this would also be my first time moving as I still live with my mom at the moment. (I’m only 19 for those wondering.)
I’m still thinking about it right now, but if I did how would I go about moving all of my stuff down there, in the easiest way possible.
How do I go about setting up a new life there?
I’m scared but I feel like this change would be really good for me and him both.

So I did something similar and from experience first choose where you want to go... Second start looking for jobs and places to live. Now the moving part can be fun and tricky because you want to look at your options. If you have a lot of stuff like future then it might be easier and cheaper to rent a truck and drive. If you have few things like I did I put my stuff in a suitcase and flew to my destination. But best advice don’t leave in anger and make sure you have a job and a roof over your head before you move.

First thing is choose a place to move. Now you gotta look at apartments and jobs. Indeed is really helpful for jobs and when applying if you get a call back explain that you’re moving there and that you couldn’t start until —— date. When I moved I contacted a place I wanted to work via their employment email and sent them a little thing explaining the situation and my experience along with my resume and it worked out. As for an apartment look online and if you can’t find anything only find a realtor and ask if they have any apartments available and if not where to look. You’re probably going to want to visit the apartment before you sign a lease though so plan to make a trip there. When moving honestly the easiest and cheapest way (even though it is still pretty expensive) was to rent a big Uhaul and drive everything to where we were moving/ tow the car behind us. I will say depending how far you’re going moving can be really costly so be prepared to need to spend like $1000-$3000 (this includes like first/ last rent) I moved to an area several hours away from anyone and everyone I know and I will tell you it is difficult but I made friends from work and that’s how I made roots. I moved due to my fiancé’s job and I don’t personally love where we live but I’d love to help you in anyway possible through this transition. Any questions you have I’m here to answer!
