Is it safe to drink on metformin?

Tomorrow is my 21st bday and I'm wondering if its safe to have a drink?

I did just be prepared that you will get DADS( day after drinking shits) worse

If you do, make sure to skip the last dose before drinking and I probably skip the next morning dose as well. 
It might give you headaches and other side effects the next day, but at least decreases the chance of serious complications (like hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis).
