Breastfeeding problem?

It's kind of sad that I don't feel the connection with my baby while breastfeeding as some have. In fact, a lot of the times I get emotional, mainly because I feel like I'm stuck. I miss my job, my independence, being with my hubby. I'm 4 weeks Pp. I like to continue nursing at least for 6 months. Has anyone else the experience as I do? What is it about nursing that you like?

I never felt that “connection” either. I had low production and BFing and pumping just ended up feeling like a chore. I stuck it out 2 months and then switched to formula only. I figured my baby got my antibodies for 2 months til he got his immunizations, so that was good enough for me. 🤷‍♀️ There was definitely mom guilt though and I always felt like I had to explain myself when the subject came up - That was the suckiest part.

I feel stuck sometimes especially since my 11 week old likes to nurse forever—sometimes even for an hour or more (his brother was the same way)—and I’m not sure if I feel a “magical” connection necessarily. I like breastfeeding because it’s free, immediate, and convenient. I go back to work in three weeks and I’m not looking forward to all the dishes with the bottles, pump equipment and storage containers (I don’t use disposable storage bags).

I nursed my first for 15 months. We had a struggle at the beginning, but right around 6 weeks it really started to get better and I absolutely loved it. He finally started to be interactive and watch me while we were nursing and it became fun. It was special time for me and him every day. He never took a bottle, which made it a little more challenging for me, but I loved the bond. Now with my second, I almost feel cheated because his feedings are constantly being interrupted by something my toddler (19 months) needs. I don’t get to have the “special” time where it’s just one on one with us. I’m having to nurse him in a wrap as I do something with my toddler or make dinner or whatever. I now savor the time when my toddler is napping, or down for the night, and I can fully focus on a nursing session for my 7 week old. 
The point is, hang in there, it gets easier. However, a happy mama is the most important thing for your babe. If you decide breastfeeding is too stressful, there is absolutely nothing wrong with formula.

Ohhh I feel the exact same! Not feeling the connection and Really missing work so much I’m researching daycares all the time. My goal is also 6 months as well. I’m at 6 weeks and feeds are faster I’m just trying to wean the nipple shield which is exhausting. I give myself goals ... make it to 6 weeks then I get there and it’s make it to 10 weeks I DO think time will pass fast things will get easier- especially when the smiles start!
However if it’s draining you mentally there is nothing wrong with formula.
Are you getting out ? Make sure you go for walks, go to the mall, have your friends over that you don’t mind feeding in front of

I felt this exact way at 4 weeks! I cried and cried and wanted to stop breastfeeding. I told myself give it until 6 weeks because everything else with breastfeeding is going well. Now I am at 6 Weeks and my little one and I have gotten into the swing of it. It no longer takes an hour to feed her and I can get into my daily life again. Do whatever feels right for you and your baby, but it does get easier. I still don’t feel that magical feeling when nursing her but I love getting to just stare at her and hold her while she eats.
