Cakey foundation

Question

My foundation is always cakey. I’m moisturising my skin and I’m using primer and letting my face dry, then I apply it with a beauty blender. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong so please tell me? Can it be like that because I have acne/ dry skin and scars???

I know everybody uses moisturizer under foundation, its the thing to do now days but i dont..  
I tried it and it made my foundation cakey.  I apply my moisturizer hours before makeup, then wash it off before i begin my makeup.    That way it has time to absorb but doesnt leave a film on my skin.   
  Also make sure your beauty blender is damp.   Maybe try a new foundation.  Make sure you're exfoliating atleast once a week.

i dont use primer, i use moisturizer then foundation & concealer w/ a damp beauty blender & then setting spray. but my foundation is the consistency of water & its full coverage & i never have an issue. (bareminerals liquid foundation)

It can be your foundation as well. If your skin is dry though then you will look cakey no matter what.
