For newborns did you have them wear a hat while they sleep?

I thought wearing a Hat while they sleep was bad cause that is how babies self regulate their temperature though their head but my aunt told me to put a hat on his head when he sleep cause the head part is still open, like the skull, skin over head not develop yet or something..z baby in room with ceiling fan.

We never did. We were told its a hazard for over heating and if they wiggle it off.

I wouldn’t. Just in case it slips down onto their face. And the whole overheating thing. Just keep the room a good temperature

I was using a hat, then our follow up nurse told us we were over dressing her! Listened to the professionals!

I've always been told not to. If it's a nap.or something where they fell asleep it's fine. But not for overnight.

Yeah I read they can overheat but she saying their head still open and soft and they catch a cold from that.
