Overdramatic?

My 4 month old son went down for a nap right before we went on the beach. My sisters boyfriend offered to stay back and watch him. So we’re down there, and I say “I hope he’s okay watching him...” and so we were down there for a few hours. I come back to the condo with plans to bring my son out. I walk in the door and see a bottle being forced in his mouth and screaming bloody murder to the point he’s sweating. I will never leave him alone with my child again. Am I being overdramatic? 🙃

That was very nice of your sister's boyfriend to offer. You got a few hours of relaxing time on the beach.
Be an adult and talk to him about it.  Being reactive doesn't help anyone.

Personally I would never leave my child alone with a man other than my dad and father in law. It honesty could have just been bad timing as far as when you walked in. But I wouldn’t do that in the future unless you feel you can really trust him in all aspects / know he has had experience with babies.

I need more details....I mean how long were you gone? Did you tell him not to feed him? Did you tell him not to touch him? Did he have a way to contact you? I mean if I was gone for a few hours and came back I would expect my baby to be screaming too. Are you made be you felt like he wad force feeding him?

How well did baby know him? I know my girl will scream bloody murder if she’s alone with anyone she doesn’t know, it’s not that they can’t care for her, it’s that babies attach to the people they know and are comfortable with. She’ll scream herself hoarse with my own mother because she doesn’t see her often.

It seems like you were already apprehensive, I probably wouldn’t have stayed hours feeling that way. How do you know the baby wasn’t screaming crying like that and the bottle was an effort to calm him? Idk, I understand being upset but I would take some of the blame myself in this situation.

No. If he doesn’t know how to take care of a baby, he shouldn’t offer. You do not calm a screaming my force feeding them. I’d be so pissed.

I think you should not let someone watch a baby who doesn’t have experience and also that you’ve had a chance to observe caring for babies, so you see how they are. 🤷‍♀️ if you have seen him with a baby before and thought he did a good job than just trust him that this time was just a hard time for the baby and it would be better next time. If you don’t know anything about how he cares for babies than no, don’t let him watch your kid again.
