Pregnancy “weeks”!? Anyone experience this?

So my last period was July 7th so I counted the weeks from my last period till my first appointment sept. 4th. According to the calendar and my period I should be at least 9 weeks pregnant. The doctor says Sept. 4th I’ll be 7 weeks......how is this possible?

I think you’ll be 8 weeks at that point... it also depends on when you ovulated. When you go in for your first ultrasound they’ll be able to tell you how far along you are and when your due date is
