So my ability to choose boy names is HORRIBLE! My first I didn’t name until around 29 weeks, but I’m 34 with my second and had a name picked for a couple months now, I hadn’t announced it because I want it to grow on me and kinda wanted to announce it when he was born. My son has been calling him baby Dawson for a while now because when I went through the list of names that I like with him that’s the one he loved and stuck to. I’d taken a video of him saying we are naming baby Dawson a couple weeks prior to a friend of mine having her son who didn’t find out gender so hadn’t announced names...low and behold she chooses the name Dawson Koa. I had Dawson Rhett picked. I shared with her comically that I had picked the same name and it was “back to the drawing board.” We are fairly close and I’m not sure what to do. I was loving the name and my son already is associating baby as Dawson. A friend of mine named her son lucas after I had named mine Lukas a couple of months before and I was never offended by it, it was kind of cute when we have play dates they’re LD and LT and I def didn’t feel like she stole it or like it was deceitful or whatever.

What are thoughts on this? What would you do?
