Swaddle or not?

My son will be 2 month next week..after the first week of him being home I noticed he hates being swaddled, like he struggles so hard to get out that he starts crying and gets really upset. His face even turns bright red and his little vein pops out on his head!! So I figured maybe he just doesn’t like it. Well as you know newborns had that startle reflex so now most of the time his naps are very short. What do you think? Swaddle him even though he hates it?

Try the Love to Dream Swaddle. It lets their hands stay up by their heads so they can self soothe. My son doesn’t like a classic swaddle where his arms are by his sides but he sleeps really well in the Love to Dream Swaddle.

My guy hated being swaddled. I stopped 2 days after we got home. He startled himself awake a few times, but was much happier the rest of the time, so it was worth it for us.

I never swaddled mine and personally I'm glad I did as I won't have to transition out of it when he starts rolling onto his tummy in the night, and it also helped him get over his reflex far easier, eventually they have to learn/get passed it at somepoint so I figured I'd do it in the beginning 
It took a couple weeks but now hes 5 months and sleeps great, he also runs hot so he wouldn't be able to stay swaddled anyway and he loves to sprawl out in his sleep

I stopped swaddling as soon as my LO started getting mad about it. We maybe made it a month before he was over it. 
To combat that, I hold his little feet up to his butt and home them so he cant kick. when he is fighting sleep and it puts him out pretty quickly. Although, he us about over that too lol. 
If your LO doesnt like it then it's not doing anyone any favors.

i wouldn’t swaddle him if he doesn’t like it, my son hated it since birth and would scream until he was out. He’s never liked being restricted from moving around. You can always buy those sleeping bags to keep him warm at night
