This was my first pregnancy. We tried to conceive for 18 months, 3 months on clomid, and 2 IUIs. My HCG levels were awesome, more than doubling. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks 6 days and everything was great, strong heartbeat. I went back at 10w1day when got the worst possible news. The baby’s heart stopped at 8w6d. I can still hear my doctor saying “I don’t have good news” replaying over and over in my head. The next day, yesterday, I went in for a d&c. We were at the hospital from 9am to 4pm. My husband was by my side the entire time. Everyone was so incredibly nice. One of the OR nurses even had a miscarriage at 8w6d three years ago.

We are just so devastated. We tried to hard for this baby and we’re so incredibly happy to finally be pregnant. My husband was already proving himself to be the best dad in the world. When I came out of the anesthesia and was able to see him all I said was “well, I’m not pregnant anymore.”

Just absolutely crushed and heartbroken. Feeling completely empty.
