So me and my ex recently broke up and he wants to do the friends with benefits thing but we still have feelings for each other but us being together just don’t work out right bc he doesn’t like showing affection and I want to receive affection.

Friends with benefits can work if you set clear boundaries and don't develope feelings for each other, or communicate it if you do. However it's rare that friends with benefits will end with the people staying friends and someone is very likely to get hurt in the long run. I personally would definitely not recommend with an ex, especially if there are lingering feelings
