Is this normal?

I was 5 weeks and 3 days for this ultrasound. (That’s what the nurse said based on the measurements.) Is it normal for the gestational sac not to be so prominent that early? I think it also might have been the angle, but I’ve had severe anxiety about it lately.

This is mine at 5w5d. You can absolutely see a yolk sac before 6 weeks. But not everyone is the same and you could just be early! We saw a heartbeat in this one also. Best of luck!

I think this is the reason why most OBs won’t do an ultrasound before 8 weeks. Did the nurse seem worried? Why did you go so early? When do you go back?

Was your ultra sound a transvaginal ultrasound? They usually don’t do an ultrasound that early for this reason. I could see the gestational sacs but not the “yolk” at 5 weeks 3 days and I saw the yolk at 7 weeks. It’s just a little early, I’ve read some doctors don’t even do the first ultrasound until 12 weeks. Good luck and congratulations mama!!
