How can I get over my fear of needles?

I have hereditary high blood pressure, so ever since I was a kid, I have had to get blood work done about twice a year for that, along with any other shots or bloodwork I would need throughout the year. I HATE needles, shots, blood, all that. It freaks me out.

I had to have a ton of blood work this past spring because we started our fertility testing. I'm hoping doing it so frequently will help me get used to it, but I don't know. After a few trips to the lab, I started rewarding myself with a coffee afterwards to hopefully form a possible association with getting blood work done, but I haven't done this enough yet to know if it works. I'm afraid I may form a negative association with Starbucks since I pretty much only get it after lab work.

I have to have more labs done on Monday and then I have an appointment with our fertility specialist on Thursday where I may need to have more done.

Any advice?
