I didn't realize how messed up my childhood was until I held my oldest. There's no excuse in the world she can make to me now.

My mom and I have always been relatively close. We’ve rarely butted heads; even when I was a teenager, she was pretty supportive and understanding. After having my daughter she was a godsend... I don’t know how my husband and I would have survived without her. However now that my daughter is a toddler, there are days when she drives me up the wall about some things. 
For instance she is stuck in the mindset that children are colder than adults. We live in south Texas, it’s 100F while I type this, and she thinks babies and toddlers should be bundled up. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to explain that that’s an old wives tale and has been proven false and that temperature does not increase the likelihood of getting sick and my dad agrees with me (my dad is an infectious disease pediatrician and I have a masters in epidemiology (the spread of diseases)). She still thinks we’re both wrong and continues to put jackets on my daughter in the heat. It’s ridiculous. Apparently my sister and I were very hot toddlers.
So in conclusion, basically my relationship with my mom has mostly continued to be wonderful but with a few cracks where we disagree and despite all proof of scientific research she refuses to accept parenting styles other than those she used 30 years ago.
