Midwives brew?!

So I’m 37 weeks and 3 days and ready to have this baby!! Iv been doing a lot of research on this drink you can make called the midwives brew and it’s supposed to be really affective on inducing labor within 24 hours. I’m going to try it tomorrow after I find out if I’m dilated at all from my doctor. Has anyone tried this? What are you experiences?

Castor oil can make baby poop in the womb which can be fatal just an fyi.

One you aren’t even full term yet, still early term. Two castor oil no matter if it’s mixed or not can cause contractions that won’t do anything but put train on you and baby (if your body isn’t ready and chances are it’s not). It can also cause the baby to poop in utero from the strain which could kill them. End of pregnancy is not fun but this is the start of parenthood where we give up our comfort and what we want for someone else’s wellbeing. I know it sucks, I get it, round two for me with a toddler at home but nothing in this world would make me risk my unborn child’s life no matter how miserable I am, which at the moment is pretty miserable.

Heard it’s awful - castor oil is a definite NO. Can cause baby to poop and choke on it in the womb and can cause serious complications and even death. I’d definitely ask your doctor before doing it. 37 weeks is still early (some pregnancies can go to 42 weeks). I feel ya on being uncomfortable but I wouldn’t risk it. I’d try a message or other safer ways to try to induce if you can’t wait

Honestly!! If you want to do it, do it. Everyone in here has their own opinion that aren’t really helpful. I think you should try it. Just like castor oil has its bad so does inducing with medicine in the hospital. GIRL DO YOU!

Before you ask anyone one here about doing midwives brew you need to ask your doctor and also ask them about castor oil. I’m not doing it anyways but my midwife said absolutely no way in any shape or form does she recommend anything with castor oil. It has a laxative effect and can cause your baby to poop in the womb and can either make them fatally sick or give them a lot of issues at birth. It also raises your risk of getting an infection in your uterus during birth if your baby does poop in the womb.

It’s definitely not recommended to drink castor oil. I know there is recipes without it. But as far as anything to do with castor oil I wouldn’t risk it

On another baby group a girl Posted a warning about drinking castor oil. She ended up having a stillbirth due to the baby pooping in utero. I know nothing about it but I feel like it’s not worth the risk!

My friend did it and went in to labor 2 hrs later and had the baby with in 3 hrs
