Ended in csection -long post
Well, I worked out my whole pregnancy and was determined to have an easy labor. I started bouncing on the exercise ball at 34 weeks. Alessio James came five days late. Contractions started Sunday night around 8. They happened a couple times an hour and very light. Went on all night. Come morning, the contractions were getting stronger and anywhere between 5-7 minutes apart lasting about 45 sec. well I had my induction date set for that monday the 12th. I was super excited that labor started on my own and went into labor the morning of my induction date. (I absolutely did not want an induction). So, when I got to the hospital I was 2cm and 60% effaced. I dilated super slow. But every time I had a contraction- babies heart rate dropped for at least two minutes. They were worried that the cord was wrapped around his neck or there the cord wasn’t being as efficient. They had me tossing and turning every 20 minutes to find the spot the baby liked me in. The only position was when I was on all fours. So I was up all night tossing and turning. They couldn’t give me pitocin because they didn’t want my contractions any closer due to babies heart rate. So... finally. Hours later. 7 am on Tuesday (remind you I went in Monday at 1:30 pm) I was 10 cm. Yay!! Time to push. The pushing part was actually very relieving. I pushed for about half hour. Doctor said well. You’re going to be pushing for at least three hours to try to get him out. Let’s do a csection. Never thought mine would end this way , but, hearing those words were music to my ears. They found out that once they opened me up and saw the baby ,, he was facing sideways, and would have never came out on his own. Def not the way I saw my delivery going but baby and I are both happy and healing now.
