I am going to be a first time mom, and I have been really considering trying to not use any pain medication. Note the “trying.” I understand that I might really need it, then so be it. But I really just want to try a natural birth, and reading up on epidural and the side effects they can have I would like to avoid it with my pre-existing back pain.

So, I really just want to hear your stories? How did you give birth? Did you use pain medication and did it help? What was it like if you didn’t use medication?
