Grief, regret, moving on

I recently broke up with a man who called me names and was very controlling. He gave me a very special gift though he instilled in me a new fascination with The Traditional Latin Catholic Faith. I'm having regrets now because even though he was controlling he loved me in a way I'd never been loved. By sacrificing his time for me. Now there were a lot of not great things about our relationship. But is ant relationship without flaw? Maybe he's the best I'll get. Thoughts?
