Question

I need help, I’ve had a swollen lymph node on the back of my neck for two months. I got it a week after giving birth via c section. I went to the docs they gave me antibiotics and did an ultrasound as well as blood work. The blood work showed elevated white blood count and the ultrasound showed a inflamed lymph node. It’s wayyyy smaller then it was I feel like it’s almost gone but it’s still there. Should I be really worried? Help!

RN here. “When in doubt, get it checked out” is my motto. It is almost impossible to give you accurate advice or recommendations if not being assessed in-person. I wouldn’t excessively worry, but I certainly would recommend not delaying a re-evaluation. Did you finish your full course of antibiotics? (follow instructions on finishing antibiotics - unless a major allergic reaction - otherwise bacteria can survive, and can become resistant to antibiotics). They will probably do follow-up lab work & ultrasound to see if their original treatment was enough. Just get yourself checked rather than excessively worrying. I hope you get answers soon & that everything is okay. Take care of yourself; you’re baby needs you to be healthy. ❤️
