Laparoscopy before IVF??

Question

Hi all! Just looking for some advice from those who've done IVF or are about to start. Did you get a laparoscopy done before?
If yes, was it recommended by your doctor for all patients or was it case dependent?
Not sure if I should request it before I start, or why it wasn't recommended in the first place.
(diagnosis: unexplained infertility and low AMH. Regular periods. No unusual symptoms.)

I am exactly the same as you (undiagnosed infertility and low AMH) and I will be having a laparoscopy (and hysterscopy) as my Dr suspects I could have endometriosis (my mother and sister have it, my uterus is retroflexed and my CA125 marker is at the high end of normal).

My doctor recommended it. I had polyps so she wanted to remove them. It’s surgery so if you don’t need it I wouldn’t get it. The doctor would have seen something to require it.

There’s no reason for a laparoscopy unless you have polyps or symptoms of endometriosis.
