Acid reflux?

My acid reflux has been terrible lately , when I wake up to go to the bathroom at night that’s when it’s the worst . Time help for a little while but it always comes back . Anybody else struggling with this ?

Things that have helped me are sleeping on a wedge pillow and taking Zantac. I also carry around tums as back up. I have to careful with my diet too.
I try to avoid things I notice they are triggering my acid reflux such as:
 tomatoes, caffeine, high fat dairy, too much garlic or onion, too much sugar and too much fat. Also acidic fruits like berries or citrus fruits. Yes basically everything it feels like lol.

The only way I’ve found for myself that helps is to strictly stop eating about 6 maybe 7pm latest to give my body plenty of time to digest my evening meal.
I then drink a glass of milk and a glass of water and before bed I take a gaviscon tablet (not sure if this is just a UK one I see a lot of people quoting ‘time?’ - I think they’re similar though).
Just those changes have made a huge difference to my reflux. I had it so badly a few weeks ago the coughing and choking when it would creep up made my throat bleed and I was coughing blood for a couple of days after each episode 😢
I used to sleep virtually upright because of acid but it was making my life hell because of SPD and trying to sleep would leave me in agony so I wasn’t sleeping either. So now Im being really strict about the food time and what I drink and I can currently sleep on my sides and hope i can keep it up a bit longer *fingers crossed* 8 more weeks 😫

Daily! Every time I get up to pee at night I find myself needing another Tums!

Everyday! Especially at night. Doc told me to take Nexium. It does help.
