What to do with the mother-in-law?

My husband is an only child so, without a doubt, his mom will want to be here for the birth of her grand-child.

Both she and my mom are SUPER religious, Southern women and can be very overbearing and will want to smother us with "advice".

My mom lives close, so I can easily ask her for some space, but his mom will be coming from out of state and I'm just wondering what I can do with her to keep her out of my business when I'm fresh out of the hospital with a newborn?

I feel bad asking her to stay in a hotel since she's retired and not wealthy.
