Mucus plug

When I wiped this morning I noticed a clear gel-like discharge, not something I’ve seen before. When I was googling it, it keeps saying something about a mucus plug. I haven’t experienced any contractions, or even Braxton Hicks. Just a lot of lower back pain.

I’m 33 weeks today.

What are your experiences with losing your mucus plug (if that’s even what this is) and going into labor?
