Worried, should I go to the ER?

We were in the car driving at 40mph max and a deer ran in front of our car. Hubby pressed on the breaks and we didn’t hit the deer but I’m worried that the jolt has done something to the baby / placenta. let me add, the seat belt was around my knee so it didn’t press on my stomach. I’m just concerned about the sudden deceleration. Should I go to the ER to get checked?

The baby is well protected. Unless you are experiencing cramping, pain or bleeding, you're fine. Call your doc if you're concerned but the baby is well insulted in there considering it wasnt a hit and you weren't wasting your belt properly. You really should be wearing your belt around your hips! (Not knees or belly) If you did get into a serious crash or hit that deer, you'd be so much worse off having the belt around your knee. It's meant to be worn low under the bellow around the hips

Except for the fact that you've got your seat belt around your knee which is insanely dangerous, you'll be fine. Stopping suddenly cannot hurt your baby. Put your seat belt under your belly, around your hips where it belongs. Even if it rides up slightly, that's where it is supposed to be. Put it around your knees and you get in a wreck that belt is going to snap your femurs in half and shatter your pelvis.

Update. I ended up calling on call and the doctor said that everything should be ok and not to worry. I felt baby move about 5 times today so I think everything is ok. 🙏🏻

Why was your seatbelt around your knee?? You should get a pregnancy seatbelt adapter. One which clips in the middle and goes over your thighs.
