Interest in Clomid?? what are the steps to begin?

So i hear so many success stories but was wondering what are the necessary requirements to begin clomid, I am in my 30’s and have not had a period since May due to depo, last shot was in Feb. my doctor did tell me to come in next month and we will take it from there. I am ttc and i feel like the clomid can help once my period begins, What advice should i discuss with her?? are there any other successful fertility drugs i could mention.
