Anyone’s baby have a blocked tear duct?

My son was 4 months yesterday and still has a blocked tear duct. It makes his eye leak bad and swell so it looks smaller than the other one. His doctor said to rub it and clean it and it may clear up before 9 months, if not we will be referred to a specialist to get it drained. Any one have any advice or been through this?

Yes my 3 week old had both. Her right opened up and her left is still closed. I use the ointment they prescribed plus a warm wash cloth, I rub them and I also put breast milk in both of them and that helps

Did your doc give you drops? We got eye drops and were told to keep it clean and it went away within her first 2 months.

My daughter had one for.months. finally had to get antibiotic drops to clear it up.

🙋🏼‍♀️ my daughter just turned six months and we have it with both eyes. It’s bothersome and I wish it would just clear up. She is always waking up with a swollen eyes or her eyes are stuck shut. 😞

My nephew had one until he was 18 months old. Finally the dr took her finger and pushed next to his eye behind the tear duct and rubbed in a circle for a minute and it opened right up.
