IUD pros and cons?

Question

I’m scheduled for a consultation for an IUD tomorrow but now that I have the consultation booked I don’t think I want to get an IUD.  I’ve never used any form of birth control other than condone and I think I am totally fine with that.  Is it wrong of me to go through with the whole consultation then say I don’t really want it? I mean just cuz I’m going for a consult about it with the doc I don’t need to get it for sure right?

I also thought about having one but when I read about them I always end up thinking that they are not for me. But I always forget why... One reason I remember is that they cause longer and heavier menstrual bleeding (mine is very heavy already sooo I am worried) and are not compatible with menstrual cups which I used before. Also your body may refuse it which happened to my friend - she also had an infection from it.

Had the IUD for about 4 years so I took it out a year before my mark to give my body some time to not be on birth control I would say it worked. No periods after a while so if you’re sick now then you’ll love this. Only cons would be ovarian cysts. It’s not for certain you’ll get them but I did and not were they painful. I was prescribed medicine which took the edge off. Other then that it worked well. Didn’t get pregnant until about 11 months after being off it lol. 
The IUD I had was the Mirena.
