Are you putting together a modern Hope Chest?
A hope box was originally something a girl would put together (it was often started by her mother) for when she got married and left home. It would have curtains, doilies, that sort of thing.
Hubby and I have started putting together a Hope Chest. It will mostly have things for when they have their own home. (Things like a nice quilt, some good cookware, a few Christmas ornaments). Just nice things to pass on to them when they are ready. We try to add something every few months, just a piece of hope.
