If you planned to visit a winery with your SO & his friend, but his friend is going through a lot & May want to speak about it privately with your SO, should you bail & let them go alone?

I just know it can be really awkward talking about your personal business with someone you’re not necessarily close with, & I have a feeling that an intense conversation will occur since drinks will be flowing... what do you think?

I don’t need to listen to all that. I’d give the man his privacy. Your SO will probably tell you anyways lol but I’d want the friend to feel comfortable.

If you were already invited and planned to go, it just seems silly to back out over a conversation that might happen. I would go if he wanted to talk to him privately he would of set up a private time to talk. Who knows maybe he is comfortable enough with you that he wanted to talk to both of you.

I’d go with. It’s something that’s been planned between you two so you should still go. I especially wouldn’t back out over something that *might* happen. If he wants to talk privately him and your so can find another time to talk.
