Not hungry?!?

Question

Do any of your babies seem to go through days that they don't eat as much? I EBF, so I don't know how much he is actually eating. The last 2 days he doesn't seem to be eating as much. My son seems to just snack at the breast. He only eats for a few minutes at a time.  He doesn't seem overly fussy or hungry,  but seems to be eating less and sleeping more.  Is this a thing?  He is 6 weeks old.

My baby is also 6 weeks old, the last few days she’s eaten less frequently and slept more. When she’s awake shes also super chill and will wake up and lie there for awhile without crying or be content to entertain herself more. I thought it might have something to do with coming out of the first leap but I’m not sure.

If he’s ill his appetite will decrease. Babies also become more efficient at draining the breast.
As long as you’re seeing lots of wet nappies usually that means everything’s going well.
If you’re really concerned is there a nurses or doctors office close by where you can weigh him? Babies should be putting on 150-200 grams a week. Weighing him weekly for a few weeks will definitely confirm if he’s doing well.

If he’s snacky, he could be cluster feeding. Also my girl is 6 weeks and is eating slightly less in a feeding in exchange for more naps, but eating more frequently. I think she has a growth spurt coming up.
