Can I still use my bottle sterilizer?!

So my mother in law was washing bottles for me and then sterilized them. She also thought (or didn’t think) she would clean one of those lil bottle brushes...with metal in it! 🤦‍♀️ so now the top rack is burnt and melted. I don’t wasn’t to use that part I know it’s done for. Lol

But was wasn’t sure if I could still use the rest of the sterilizer? The base lid and the bottom rack all look fine aren’t melted but there is some black burnt spots that I’m having a hard time getting off. So is there a way to get that off? Or should I just toss it all and get a new one?
