When should I make my hospital bag?

We are 30 weeks now and we will be about 35 weeks when we close on our house. Just trying to get my ducks in a row.

I’m 34 weeks today and have been in the hospital since yesterday morning because of preterm labor. I’m soooo happy I had my bag packed.

I’m 34 weeks and I started packing mine a couple weeks ago of course I’m not finished cause there are some things I still need to buy and there is also last minute stuff I’ll need to pack right before we go to the hospital (charger, toothbrush, etc)

I did mine around 35-37ish weeks because I still needed/wanted my clothes. But I started putting aside my toiletries and make up when it got to the last few uses. I packed those and then just threw away the bottles at the hospital.

I’m 10 weeks, haven’t even had a scan yet and am desperate to do it 😂 do it as soon when you get time, then you’ve still got plenty of time to swap outfits/ change your mind on items/ add things you may have forgotten x

I had mine made the whole third trimester for my first, just in case. That being said I vastly overpacked and barely used any of the stuff I brought with me. Honestly the essentials for labor are a phone charger, hair ties, and chapstick. In the worst case scenario where you go into labor without a hospital bag packed, take those with you and send your husband home after the baby is born for whatever else you need. The hospital provides so much stuff you’ll be able to get by until then.

I celebrated the beginning of the 3rd trimester by packing mine the day I turned 28 weeks. I have a history of bed rest and pre term labor though, so even though everything is going great this pregnancy I thought it was wise to prepared for anything.

I waited super long. I was 34 weeks and diagnosed with pre eclampsia. 35 weeks I almost didn't get to leave so I packed that weekend. 36 weeks I was induced 🤷‍♀️

Wait til your dr tells you you’ve started to dilate or have pre E or something that suggests you’ll have the baby soon. The stuff you’ll need at the hospital is mostly stuff you’ll be using up until you go into labor. Just make sure you always have lots of clean clothes so you can pack your hospital bag when you need to. Also make sure you pack a small bag for labor and delivery then a bigger bag for your hospital stay
