Why are some babies so smiley(happy) and some are so grumpy

Question

Could it be what we eat in our pregnancy and how we are emotionally that makes an effect on the baby. I've always had grumpy babies, they never smile, so hard to please.
Just want to hear about your experiences and how your diet was in pregnancy and your moods etc. 
Both my pregnancies I was sick the whole way through. 1st preganancy I was very emotional cried alot. Second pregnancy I was so angry.

I ate a lot of burritos and have a pretty happy baby... if anyone wants to give that a try

I had one grumpy baby, one very happy baby and one that’s in between. I highly doubt diet and moods play a part in a baby’s temperament.

Scientists average that 40% of temperament is inherited... The rest could be anything from environment to who knows what else.

I don’t think diet has anything to do with that. Except for maybe the baby’s diet if it causes them digestive issues or discomfort. I had an awful diet during both pregnancies and I was an emotional mess throughout both as well. My first daughter is very calm, but happy. She smiles very sweetly and mildly. She’s a gentle soul. My second little girl is a firecracker. She’s always laughing and smiles big. It’s just a matter of the baby’s personality and how they express themselves.

Hmm not sure. Both my babies were pretty happy but my second is way more easy going and an easier sleeper, also a great eater. I was much more relaxed during my second pregnancy. Not sure if there’s a correlation at all.

About a year ago a lady in the waiting room at my birth center told me that my son has my smile and that you can always tell a baby has a happy momma by how much the baby smiles ♥️ I don’t know the accuracy behind it but I am always smiling.

Play them classical music and zen music. The waves help calm them. Carry on with this when they’re born too. But your energy is important
